Windsor Park (Belfast) is the National Stadium of the Northern Ireland men’s football team. In addition to hosting international football matches the redeveloped National Stadium includes administrative offices for the Irish Football Association plus community and conference facilities.

Description

The Irish Football Association, the fourth oldest association in the world, is the governing body of football in Northern Ireland and is responsible for delivering an extensive range of programmes and activities within grassroots, domestic and international football.

The newly developed state of the art facility at Windsor Park includes seating for 18,000 spectators in addition to community and conference facilities, a football museum and shop.

Providing opportunities for approximately 25,000 males and females to play football every week the number of events and activities delivered by the association is extensive.  As an organisation the vision is simply, “to promote, foster and develop football for all”.

Northern Ireland Men’s Team


Ranked 47th in Europe (UEFA) and 89th in the world (FIFA) the Northern Ireland men’s team is currently focused on the FIFA World Cup 2018.

Other international teams

The Irish Football Association has an impressive array of international teams participating on the European and World stage to include women (National Team, Under 19, Under 17 and Under 15), men (Under 21, Under 19, Under 17 and various schoolboy international teams) and disabled performers (Cerebral Palsy and Learning Disability). These teams participate in a range of events throughout the year and full details can be found on the Irish FA website.

Football Development


The Football Development Department is the largest within the association and includes over 80% of the IFA staff. The range of programmes carried out within this department are extensive and include girls’/ women’s football, boys’ football, disability football, grassroots football, referees, schools football, the DENI Primary School Programme, Football for All, Club Development and Volunteer Development. Directions to Irish Football Association

From Portadown, Dungannon & The South - Exit M1 at Junction 1 and take the second exit on the A12 Westlink roundabout onto Glenmachan Street. Take a sharp turn left into Donegall Road, then turn right into Donegall Avenue. From Antrim, Ballymena & The North - Take the M2 to North Belfast.Turn off into the A12 Westlink Road. This road leads onto the M1 Junction 1.Take the first left exit on the Junction 1 Roundabout into Glenmachan Street, then turn left into Donegall Road, then turn right into Donegall Avenue. From Bangor & Newtonards - Take the A2 Sydenham Bypass into East Belfast. Follow onto the M3. As the road passes over the river Lagan take a left turn and join the A12 West Link. This road leads onto the M1 Junction 1.Take the first left exit on the Junction 1 Roundabout into Glenmachan Street, then turn left into Donegall Road, then turn right into Donegall Avenue.
