Queen’s Quarter
Queen’s Quarter is the heart of South Belfast and is situated around one of the oldest universities in the UK. Whatever you want to do, you can find it in Queen’s Quarter – culture and arts, architecture and open spaces, great food and fine dining, along with café culture and vibrant night life.

There is a full range of theatre, music, comedy and dance venues in the area: Queens Film Theatre, Empire Music Hall, Crescent Arts Centre, the Lyric Theatre and Ulster Museum. South Belfast is home to the world class Belfast festival at Queen’s as well as festivals which demonstrate the city’s rich cultural diversity such as the Belfast Mela.

Nightlife
South Belfast is one of the most popular and lively areas to socialise in Belfast. Whether you feel hungry or fancy a trip to the theatre, a night clubbing, or quiet drink with your friends – from Dublin Road and Shaftesbury Square to Lisburn Road and Ormeau Road, South Belfast has it all.

Shopping
South Belfast is home to specialist and boutique shops. The Lisburn Road has a wealth of designer stores and boutiques, along with fabulous restaurants, bars and cafes. Botanic Avenue and Stranmillis have a bit of everything while Ormeau Road, Finaghy Road and Sandy Row take you a bit closer to that sense of the real Belfast.

Just a few minutes walk from Queen’s Quarter you will find the elegantly restored St Georges Market. First built in 1896, it is the oldest operating market in Ireland. Variety, food, garden, arts and craft markets are held every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Eating out
The Lisburn Road, Botanic Avenue, Ormeau and Stranmillis Road are filled with bustling cafes and award winning restaurants to suit every budget, not to mention every palette.
