Queen’s 91st Birthday Gun Salute
You are invited to an event usually reserved for VIP guests! Join in on Saturday 17 June for this iconic royal tradition. At precisely 12pm the Royal Irish Brigade will fire a 21 gun salute in honour of HRM Queen Elizabeth II, who in February of 2017 became Britain’s longest serving Monarch. What a wonderful excuse (as if you need one) to get out and enjoy summer in the gardens at Hillsborough Castle.
Guests are required to gather at the south terrace for a safety briefing at 11.30am prior to the gun salute at 12pm. Ear plugs will be provided.
Why not make a day of it? Bring along a picnic and enjoy a leisurely lunch within the beautiful gardens and explore the meandering waterways and woodland which make up this stunning 96 acre site.
Alternatively, book a castle tour and gardens ticket and you will enjoy full access to the gardens and the Gun Salute, plus the added benefit of a guided tour of this intriguing royal residence with one of the expert guides. Let the team welcome you as honoured guests as you experience the stories of the castle and explore its elegant state rooms.
Castle tours last approximately 45 minutes and are available at 10am, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm or 4pm.
