Catch novelist, playwright and actor Shane Connaughton in conversation with Danny Morrison. Shane’s new novel, Married Quarters, set in a Garda border station in the 1950s, was published in May to widespread acclaim. he also cowrote the screenplay for the Oscar-nominated film, My Left Foot; the screenplay for Maeve Binchy's Tara Road; and collaborated with Mike Leigh on the film Four Days In July.
Internationally acclaimed poet Hollie McNish has garnered over seven million YouTube views for her online poetry performances and won this year’s Ted Hughes Award. Live, she is frank and passionate in her views on love, politics, race, and all that comes in between. This event is part of her Plum tour, based on her rude and candid account of attempting to become an adult.
Glasgow-immersed Victoria McNulty is a spoken word poet and writer and a regular performer at music festivals including the BBC 6 Music Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe. She focuses on themes varying from Irish Scots heritage, Brit Pop, and Glasgow culture.
This year she showcased her debut show, Confessionals, a reflective coming-of-age character piece from the perspective of a Glasgow barmaid.
