Look out for alternative Christmas trees, homemade decorations and go for a winter wander as you look forward to Christmas. Grab a winter warmer from their café, wrap up and explore Rowallane Garden.
Cones and Conifers walk – Daily 10am – 4pm from 28 November
In Rowallane House you will find a display of different Cones and Conifers found across the garden. From here you will be able to pick up a walk sheet and go off into the garden and find the trees where they grow.
Using your keen navigation skills, find the compass point to lead you to each fascinating tree along the walk. If you’re tech savvy, you can choose to use the ‘What3words’ app to find the locations on your smartphone or tablet.
Seasons Readings – Daily - 10am – 4pm from 28 November
Their second-hand book shop is being given a new home in Rowallane House. Pop in, browse our collection of books, make a bookmark using recycled Christmas cards and discover your new favourite book.
You can also pick up a unique gift by taking home one of their prewrapped books as a mystery present for a loved one. They’ll give you the genre and the first line of the book to help you choose.
Festive Make and Take – Daily - 10am – 4pm from 28 November
Learn how to make simple homemade Christmas decorations to take home with you and put on your tree.
Fun in the Barn – Daily 10am – 4pm
Especially for the kids the barn is loaded with fun activity to enjoy. Perfect for a rainy day the kids can dress up as explorers, play in dens, check out the sensory activity wall for the little ones and check their aim with a festive bean bag toss.
Children must be supervised at all times.
Patterson’s Spade Mill in the Stable Yard - Wednesday 7 and Sunday 11 December – 10am – 3pm
The Blacksmiths from Patterson’s Spade Mill will be taking over the Stable Yard to demonstrate the ancient craft of blacksmithing.
If you are still looking for a unique gift, they will have a selection of hand made products for you to purchase. They also take commissions for something bespoke and offer Blacksmithing classes at the Mill if you want to try it out for yourself.
Pomander Balls and Candle Making demonstration – Wednesday 14 and Sunday 18 December – 1pm – 3pm
Join a member of the team and learn how to bring out festive scents as they show you how to make a Pomander ball. Add a little light to your winter evenings with a simple candle making demonstration to try at home.
Festive Music in the Garden
They will be filling the garden with festive song over the festive period. Wrap up warm and join them on Saturdays to let them help you get in the festive spirit.
