George Hutton is performing an exclusive concert at Ulster Hall in celebration of Age NI's 10 year anniversary. A night of local talent, this event will be an honourable nod to the great work of local charity, Age NI.
George Hutton has toured globally with the Columbia Artists production ‘The Five Irish Tenors’ selling out their first North American Tour in 2017. No stranger to the stage he has performed with Hozier, Glen Hansard, Tommy Fleming, Moya Brennan and Phil Coulter as we ll as touring mainland Europe and Canada with the critically acclaimed ensemble Anúna featuring on two albums Illumination and as a soloist on the album Revelation.
One of the great local choirs, the Donaghadee Male Voice Choir, will be joining George on stage. The choir's membership currently stands around 65, and its repertoire embraces both secular and sacred music, as well as popular, folk, traditional and operatic works. Their reputation extends far beyond these shores Northern Ireland, participating inchoral festivals throughout Europe.
The evening will also be supported by Lagan Seahorses who would give any Welsh male voice choir a run for their money. The choir was born out of a group of ageing rugby players so they all understand the power of a good strong song. They are a real joy to hear performing and it’s very clear to see how much they all enjoy being a part of it. The close harmonies and melodic tones generated by one of Belfast’s top male voice choirs aims to raise the roof.
Victoria College Belfast’s school choir, previous winners of BBC Young School Choir of the year, will be joining the evening to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Age NI.
