Description

I nGaeilge agus i mBéarla. / In Irish and English.

Pléann Ag Taisteal Siar oidhreacht shaibhir cheoil Lucht Siúil na hÉireann, a bhí mar cheannródaithe i gceol na hÉireann ó réimse na mbailéad sna 1960í. Beidh ceol cumhachtach agus agallaimh sa chlár le Kathleen Keenan, Sarah Dunne, Sharyn Ward, Niamh Dunne agus Steo Wall, mar aon le bunfhilíocht arna scríobh ag Martin Warde. Mar a deir Steo Wall, “Tuigtear do dhaoine anois de réir a chéile an tionchar a bhí ag an Lucht Siúil ar cheol agus ar chultúr na hÉireann.”

Tabharfar ómós sa chlár do laochra ar nós Pecker Dunne, Na Deartháireacha Doran agus Maggie Barry, agus beidh machnamh ann ó cheoltóirí amhail Damien Dempsey agus Liam Ó Maonlaí. Nochtann an clár faisnéise seo oidhreacht a ndearnadh neamart air le fada ach atá fite fuaite i bhféiniúlacht chultúrtha na nGael.

As Steo Wall says, “People are slowly understanding the impact Travellers have had on Irish music and culture.”
