Visit the Northern Ireland War Memorial this December for FREE festive fun!
Learn how people celebrated Christmas under the restraints of rationing and make your own Christmas wrapping paper with scrap materials and potato prints. Listen to well-loved Christmas songs and taste some wartime Christmas treats.
There’s something for all ages to enjoy with bonus drop in activities as follows;
Saturday 2 December – Christmas Storytelling
Drop in at 1pm or 3pm to sit down and hear how local families celebrated Christmas during the Second World War.
Saturday 9 December – Decorate a Gingerbread Biscuit
Learn how to bake festive and flavourful gingerbread with a wartime recipe of limited ingredients. Decorate a Gingerbread biscuit to take home!
Saturday 16 December – Christmas sing-a-long with Karen Diamond
Drop in at 1pm or 3pm to join music therapist Karen Diamond as she plays live piano and leads a sing-a-long of much loved Christmas songs from the 1940s.
Saturday events run from 12pm-4pm with activities suitable for all ages.
Drop-in, no booking required.
