City Centre Belfast Blitz Walking Tours (In conjunction with Northern Ireland War Memorial Museum)
Description
Join staff from the Northern Ireland War Memorial on this guided walking tour of the Cathedral Quarter exploring the impact of the Belfast Blitz on the city.
Participants will each be given a leaflet featuring period photographs from 1941 to compare with how the city centre streets look today. The tour will start from the Northern Ireland War Memorial at 21 Talbot Street, Belfast BT1 2LD and finishes at Belfast City Hall. It lasts approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.
The Northern Ireland War Memorial is an engaging and welcoming museum that provides a window on Northern Ireland’s key role in the Second World War and the impact of the war on its people. It was established to provide an enduring memorial for the men and women of Northern Ireland who died in the two World Wars, and to commemorate the American presence in Northern Ireland during the Second World War.
