Description

The history of Belfast begins at Clifton House. From the moment you step through the door you will be transported back in time to the Belfast Poor House.

Clifton House is one of the oldest and most beautiful buildings in Belfast. 2024 is an important year as they celebrate 250 years since its doors first opened as a Poorhouse in 1774.

To mark this special anniversary, join them for a unique guided tour which will explore the early development of Clifton House and its evolution through the years, during which time it has survived rebellions and revolutions while continuing to look after the welfare of the people of the city. Visitors will also have an opportunity to view a new exhibition in the Heritage Centre which displays some of the key artefacts and archives that tell their story.

This year, as part of the 250th Anniversary celebrations, Belfast Charitable Society hope to use their tours, talks and events to help raise funds for their ongoing philanthropic work. All funds raised will be used to support those most in need. Thank you in advance for your support.
