Belfast City Marathon moves into its 39th year in 2020 with its continued support from title sponsor Deep RiverRock.
The 2020 Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon was supposed to take place on 20 September 2020 but has been postponed to Sunday 2 May 2021.
Belfast is one of the leading marathons in the UK and Ireland and is an AIMS certified race and qualifying event for the Abbott World Marathon Majors Wanda Age Group Rankings.
Starting at the iconic Stormont Estate, the event is expected to bring around 20,000 participants to Belfast. Events include a Marathon and Wheelchair Race, 2-5 person Team Relay, 8 Mile Walk and Fun Run (approx 3 miles). Though the vast majority of entrants are local, the event proves to be of great interest 39 years on with registrations from USA, Japan, Australia, across Europe and beyond.
Whether you’re a marathon athlete, keen walker, fundraiser, interested in athletics at school or simply love a challenge, there is an event to suit you.
The event will be working closely with their Official Charity Partner – Cancer Focus Northern Ireland. Participants are encouraged to #MakeItCount and run, walk or wheel for team Cancer Focus NI in 2020 to help more people survive from cancer.
