Foreign Owl, Tramp and George Houston
Description
Life After Art promotions is delighted to invite you to an incredible pre-christmas party.
They are proud to bring together three of the finest musical acts. Foreign Owl, Tramp and George Houston. All lower by the magnificent drumming of the one and only Steamy McCay.
Foreign Owl comprises three young souls born EXACTLY at the stroke of 3 bells, born PRECISELY on the land border between Japan and Ireland. 3 o'clock normally being too late or too early for anything you really want to do, they set out to create a collection of music that usurps expectations, but drives home melodies that jam into the mind and linger on the tongue.
Their high energy live show excites and demands immediate attention. With entrancing drums, Impromptu vocals, singing bass, and untethered guitar, the songs invite you into a unanimous vibe shared between audience and band.
TRAMP is the genre-queer, Donegal-accented, fiery and cathartic band breaking through the Irish DIY music scene. Their performance combines earworm guitar riffs, drums that keep you guessing - with a raw, unrelenting voice. TRAMP’s “timely lyrics” on top of their emerging punk sound is truly infectious.
Winners of the ‘BBC Introducing: Artist of the Year Award 2023’ at the NI Music Prize, and after recognition from BBC Across The Line - BBC Radio 1’s Introducing to Nialler9, Dig With It & Chordblossom - this bunch of post-punk-inspired hallions have taken the North of Ireland by storm.
Having supported Derry legends; The Undertones, TOUTS & Cherym, TRAMP are now selling out their own headline shows. Taking 2023 by storm; Output Showcase (Belfast), headlining Stendhal Festival’s Henry McCullough stage in 2023, and four performances both Cardigan & Dingle of ‘Other Voices 2023’ at the end of their own headline tour… the TRAMP gospel is spreading like fire.
Tramp recently performed at the NI music prize in the Ulster Hall.
“Tramp played like a band who understood their mission. They were in a hurry to achieve it. It’s going to be a compelling journey.”
- Stuart Bailey, Belfast Telegraph, Feb 2023
George Houston
Hailing from the depths of rural Ireland, alternative Donegal singer songwriter George Houston was raised on classic folk, pop and rock from his parents vast collection of cds and vinyl, always encouraged to listen and play freely with instruments, George developed a natural timeless sound, a voice beyond his years and a songwriting style sprinkled with an uninspired nostalgia.
George has grown a large international audience from the viral reaction to his single In Aeternum Vive which was placed in Glastonburys longlist as well as gaining the attention of acclaimed artist Declan McKenna who gave George his first play on BBC Radio One, and international legend Paul Weller, who invited George to open for his sold out Irish and North American tour.
