Description

Hillsborough Castle and Gardens is opening the castle this December to welcome guests of all ages and to see the State Rooms beautifully decorated for Christmas.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! There really is no better time to visit Hillsborough Castle than when it has decked out in its Christmas splendour. This 45 minute tour of the State Rooms takes place throughout the month of December on set dates and is suitable for the whole family.

As the only royal residence in Northern Ireland, hosts will take you on a lively journey through the castle where you can explore festive traditions and get into the Christmas spirit.

During the tour, you will have the opportunity to meet the main man himself, as Father Christmas makes an appearance in his traditional green robes. Although this is not a Santa experience with photos and presents, it is a magical experience for the little ones and a true highlight for visitors.

With 100 acres of gardens to explore, encompassed by meandering waterways, the hidden Pinetum and the impressive Walled Garden are accompanied by play trails throughout the grounds to capture the imagination of all our guests.

Please note, the ticket price includes a timed entry slot to the Castle and all day entry to the Gardens.  It does not include a children’s gift from Father Christmas.

Entry to Hillsborough Castle and Gardens is via the car park on the southbound A1.  Postcode BT26 6HR.

Prebooking on the Hillsborough Castle and Gardens website is recommended and entry to the Castle is on a timed ticket slot.  Entry to the Castle building is every 15 minutes and latecomers may not be admitted.

Covid-19 information: Hand sanitiser is available throughout the site, and social distancing signage is displayed where necessary.  Entry to the Castle is by timed entry slot and pre-booking on Hillsborough Castle and Gardens website is recommended.
