Scotts Jazz Club is delighted to continue their series focusing on the future stars of jazz in Ireland and beyond. This week, they're featuring an unsung hero of the Irish music scene now making his name in the jazz scene, guitarist Matt Curran.
Matt has been a session musician for over 20 years, working with top artists worldwide. Now pursuing his lifelong passion for jazz, and influenced by artists such as Chick Corea, Mike Stern and Bob Berg, Matt brings an energetic mix of traditional jazz with fusion overtones.
Matt is currently working on his Ph.D. in Jazz Guitar at Ulster University with Linley Hamilton. Having recently completed his Debut E.P, He’ll be joined this week by Bassist Rohan Armstrong and Andrew McCoubrey on drums for a set of energetic Jazz guitar virtuosity.
