The Ballyhackamore Social and EastSide Arts Festival present Joshua Burnside.

The Ballyhackamore Social & EastSide Arts Festival present Joshua Burnside.

Influenced by the likes of John Martyn and Nick Drake, Burnside's anxieties take in the economics of the apocalypse - perfectly fitting for current times. The Almighty Banks of The West, built upon a culture of colonialism, bloodshed and classism, look on as the world spirals further into chaos - and as they reap the rewards, more continue to be Born In The Blood.

Three years after the release of his award-winning debut album 'Ephrata', Joshua Burnside this month announced that his sophomore album 'Into The Depths Of Hell' will be released in September. An absurdist examination at the suffering humans inflict on each other every day and the innate human condition that demands we find some humour in it lest we collapse, 'Into The Depths...' postulates that perhaps the first ring of hell begins on our door step.

The Ballyhackamore Working Men's Club has experienced something of a rebirth over the last year as a cultural hub in the east of the city. A venue steeped in history, it's recently served the community with a series of arts events fusing music, visual arts and dancing. EastSide Arts Festival is excited to feature this venue in the programme for the first time; live streaming from the very special surroundings of the top floor, this live online event will make you feel like you're there in person.
