Start the New Year off on the right foot, by exploring the rich and varied history of Newtownards.
The tour, guided by expert Paul Whitla, will take you on a journey through time, visiting the Medieval plantation and learning about Georgian periods, discovering many interesting and exciting stories, including those of John de Courcy and Oliver Cromwell. Immerse yourself in the history of Newtownards - one of the oldest settlements in Northern Ireland!
Things to note
- Tour departs on foot from the Town Hall/Ards Arts Centre, Conway Square.
- Children are welcome, ticket applicable. No concessions.
- U18's must be accompanied by at least one paying adult.
- Easy pace 1 hour walking tour without inclines.
- Walking shoes and warm coat advisable.

By car: From Belfast follow A 20 to Newtownards Town Centre. Pay and Display parking available at Mill Street, West Street and South Street/Court Street Car Parks.
By public transport: From Belfast Ulsterbus service no 5 to Newtownards. *Please note a reduced service might apply on New Year's Day. See Translink for timetable.
