Przemysław Strączek Quartet

The music contained on the album is characterized by a modern approach to the sound of the quartet with the use of instrumental colors and sonorisms. In the works, you can find a reference to various achievements of jazz music, including the Polish jazz school, from modal jazz through free jazz and contemporary harmony. Elements of these genres are filtered by the author, reflecting his perception of today's music through the prism of the guitar as an accompanying and solo instrument. In addition to the leader, the recording was attended by musicians: Marcin Kaletka playing soprano and tenor saxophone, Italian double bass player Francesco Angiuli and drummer Patryk Dobosz. An important advantage of the album is capturing a certain relationship of the artists during the recording session. The interaction, intuition and musical fantasy of the quartet members give the disc a unique atmosphere. The album was recorded in Poland in Maq studio, while the world-famous sound engineer Katsuhiko Naito in Avatar studio in New York, who is known for his cooperation with, among others, took care of the mixing and mastering. with Al Di Meola, John Scofield, Maria Schneider and Lee Konitz. The vinyl version of this album turned out to be a bestseller among all vinyl records sold in Poland according to the Audio Video Producers Association (Olis) in the first week after the premiere (January 2021), ahead of pop and rock music stars in this ranking.
