A heartfelt one-woman show about bees, grief, and the quiet power of nature.
Ellie is a local beekeeper quietly tending to her hives while carrying the heavy weight of grief. As she cares for the little lives of her bees, Ellie crosses paths with Frank and Susan, two remarkable individuals who, despite their own struggles, live with fierce determination. Their story stirs something in Ellie, bringing the audience on a journey with her.
Queen of the Bees is a tender yet dynamic one-woman show, that explores resilience, transformation, and the unexpected ways we find connection. Written and performed by Johanna Gallagher, directed by Heather Martin, and produced by Wildering Productions. The play was initially developed through c21 Theatre Company’s Early Career Playwrights Programme 2024, supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland through the National Lottery Fund and Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council.
