Quilt Fayre
Description
Quilt Fayre is an annual boutique Knitting and Stitching show, open to the public, with invited traders and tutors.
Over the course of three days in September, the Stormont Hotel becomes the home for “Quilt Fayre” in Belfast. With over 25 selected traders, over 35 workshops - from one hour quick and easy classes to full day masterclasses with international tutors, and a School house hosting continuous demonstrations and talks from industry specialists , and 4 distinct quilt displays, the hotel is a hive of activity and fun.
The exhibitions this year include:
- A joint exhibition hosted by the Irish Patchwork Society and the Northern Ireland Patchwork and Quilting Guild under their “Hands Across the Border” initiative
- Display of competition quilts – the first open competition for quilters at the event
- “Traders and Tutors” exhibition, showcasing the skills of many of our traders and our tutors participating in Quilt Fayre
- “Different Paths”, showcasing the skills of two Belfast ladies who share the same first name, have similar quilting journeys, but quilt in their own distinctive style : Yvonne McKee and Yvonne McAtamney
Stormont Hotel, Upper Newtownards Road, Belfast, 7-9 September. The hotel is easily accessible by public transport from the city Centre, and there is also free car parking available at the hotel for all visitors to the event.
