Description

The popular Royal Hillsborough Farmers Market returns to the historic village to celebrate mid-summer.

Set against the tree lined ‘The Dark Walk’ and Hillsborough Fort it makes for a lovely day out, especially when combined with a browse of the eclectic mix of independent shops and eateries in the village.

The market features over 50 stalls of the finest local and seasonal farm-to-market produce and artisan food from across Northern Ireland for you to discover.

Expect to find regeneratively farmed and outdoor reared heritage meats, fruit and vegetables, breads, cakes, Irish cheeses, jams, chutneys and pickles, olives, pestos and tapenades, charcuterie, fresh fish, shellfish and smoked salmon, to locally grown plants and flowers, chocolate, coffee, street food and more besides!

A small but considered and complimentary selection of designer craft, art, organic skincare, and sustainable living products can also be found.

Stalls will feature established food market names such as Kin and Folk, Round House Bakery, Tori’s Bakery, Tom and Ollie, Castlescreen Farm, Crawfords Rock Seaweed Company, The Oystercatcher and Deli Muru. Hillsborough’s own independent plant nursery, Potter’s Hill Plants and Gracehill Flower Farm will both be in attendance with locally grown seasonal blooms.

By the time you explore the village and browse the market you will be ready for refreshments, but you will not be disappointed with Tribal Burger, Pizza Table, Ret Ro’s Grilled Cheese and The Curious Farmer. New kids on the block, Wild Child Foods which specialises in flavoursome and nutritious plant-based dishes and The Gardener’s Kitchen with a unique offering of gourmet sandwiches and desserts (think scampi sandwiches)!

For children there are craft activities, face painting and balloon modelling. Street Theatre and music by local acoustic musicians will add to the convivial atmosphere of the market.

For updates on who is trading at each market, follow the Visit Lisburn Castlereagh social media channels on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and also on their website.
