Steam Saturday
Description
Come on down to Whitehead by the coast, the home of steam in County Antrim.
Visit the picturesque seaside town of Whitehead to experience the magic of steam. On the historic 1907 platform at Whitehead Excursion Station you’ll board the train for a short trip within the premises. Hauled by their locomotive No.171 "Slieve Gullion".
Included in your ticket price is admission to the 5-gallery Museum (allow at least an hour).
Trains every 30 minutes from 11am until 3pm (except 1pm), but tickets need to be booked in advance to get your preferred time slot. Note, this is a short train ride – 3 trips up and down their own railway platform. Although you will be hauled by an engine under steam, you will not be transported off site.
Afterwards, you can treat yourself to tea/coffee and snacks in the Cups & Carriages Edwardian Tea Room.
