Description

Explore the local folklore, relax in beautiful surroundings and enjoy some mindfulness

Discover your own inner mermaid (or merman!). During this mindful experience you will take a creative and fun approach to discovering modern mermaid values, what these might mean to you, interspersed with some mermaid-themed crafts, stories, and a bit of craic! The workshop will take place at WWT Castle Espie Wetland Centre, on the shore of Strangford Lough, where you will hark back to ancient Celtic stories of selkies and the Mahee Island mermaid.

This is a mindful and creative workshop, where you can take time-out to indulge your imagination. Take a step-back using a magical mermaid context  and folklore to consider what these might mean to you.

Christine from Kiri Cottage Crafts will adapt the experience to reflect what the group would like to explore. For example, mermaid-themed meditations, to give deeper feeling of relaxation.

The mermaid crafts will include some of the following:

  • Mermaid bracelet and other jewellery kits
  • Knitted/crochet/felted mermaid kits

If you are looking for time out to connect with nature and your inner-self, this is the experience for you.
