Description

The Cook & The Gardener is a hands-on harvesting and cooking event held in the beautiful grounds of Crannagael House.

Part of the Armagh Food and Cider Festival

"Food tastes great when it is eaten outside." is a well-known phrase but it tastes even better when you prepare that food yourself. The Cook & The Gardener is a hands-on harvesting and cooking event held in the beautiful grounds of Crannagael House. After meeting owners of Crannagael John and Jane to learn a little of this history of this fascinating Georgian property, Jane, a talented gardener, will take you on a walk of the vegetable and fruit gardens, including the orchards. She will teach you how to identify, select and gather a selection of plants and fruits plus offer some growing tips too. Once you have gathered your ‘crop’ of food, the event continues with Joyce Brownlees, Proprietor and Chef at award winning, 5-star Blackwell House. Joyce will help you prepare your plate of food, teaching you cooking methods, complementary flavours and ways to serve. You and the other guests will then dine, festival style, under the shelter of a luxury teepee in the beautiful Crannagael gardens.

Ticket price includes a two-course lunch plus a glass of local cider or apple juice.
