Description

An exhibition by one of Ireland’s most renowned print makers and leading member of the Royal Ulster Academy of Arts, Margaret Arthur.

The ArtisAnn Gallery in Belfast is hosting a new exhibition by the renowned print maker Margaret Arthur. She is a member of the prestigious Royal Ulster Academy of Arts and was one of the founder members of Seacourt Print Workshop.

This exhibition is inspired by the ever-changing light and colour of the coastlines and tides of Counties Donegal and Down.

She exhibits widely in Ireland, the UK, and throughout Europe, and in the USA, where she lived and worked for a year, holding a solo exhibition at The Russell Rotunda, a Senate building in Washington DC.

In 2007 she spent six months in California, printmaking at Stanford University, and at the Pacific Art League. In 2018 she was an invited artist at the Franco/Japanais Exhibition in Paris and Tokyo.

Margaret lives and works in County Down, and studied Fine Art painting and etching at Belfast College of Art before taking a post graduate degree in printmaking from the Brighton College of Art. In 1981 she cofounded the Seacourt Print Workshop and was its Director until 2013. She remains an honorary life member and a member of the board of directors.

The exhibition runs at the ArtisAnn Gallery, 70 Bloomfield Avenue and can also be viewed online.

This is a FREE event and all are welcome.

All artworks are available to buy.

You can also buy art from this exhibition through the Own Art scheme which gives you an interest-free loan over 10 months (and you still get to take the art home when the exhibition ends).
