Description
Swedish folk royalty Väsen present an evening of new and traditional folk music within the immersive sound environment of SARC’s Sonic Laboratory, including a new suite by Chris Corrigan for nyckelharpa, electric viola and live electronics.
Väsen are a unique presence in folk music. After almost 40 years of performing together, Olov Johansson and Mikael Marin have perfected their craft, with telepathic interplay creating richly textured music that is at once intense and full of humour.
With SARC-based composer, sound engineer and fiddle player Chris Corrigan, their new suite explores sympathetic resonances between the Swedish and Irish folk traditions.
