Enjoy an evening of memory and song.
Comedian Tim McGarry and historian Dr David Hume take an informative and entertaining look at Belfast’s Second World War experience, with readings from the Northern Ireland War Memorial Oral History Archive and musical performances from Jonathan Rea and soloist, Sylvia Burnside.
This event will be followed at 9:00pm by a brass band performance and relay of King George VI and Winston Churchill’s VE Day speeches in the front grounds of City Hall.
This event is the first in Belfast City Council’s special programme of events taking place on the 7th and 8th of May to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day.
The event will take place in the Great Hall, City Hall on the evening of the 7th of May (19:30 – 21:00).
