Description

Taking your dog for a walk is one of life’s greatest treasures, why not combine this with a guided tour of Scrabo Hill and picnic?

The walk takes in the summit of Scrabo Hill and the famous Scrabo Tower built in 1857, one of Northern Ireland's best-known landmarks. Enjoy a delicious picnic box while taking in the stunning views over Strangford Lough and North Down. The walk then descends to a vantage point of the disused quarries. The old quarries have major geological importance and have been designated an Area of Special Scientific Interest.

Each dog will receive a bandana. The picnic box is included in the price (you will receive a brioche filled roll, fruit, yogurt, tray bake and bottle of water). Please make event organisers aware of any dietary requirements by 24 July 2021 by emailing ardsvic@ardsandnorthdown.gov.uk.

Tour Guide: Paul Whitla

Meeting point: On foot from the car park beside Scrabo Golf Club BT23 4NW

All dogs must be kept on lead during the tour. A good level of fitness and walking shoes are advised due to steep inclines and uneven ground.
