Years of Chaos & Hope
Description
‘1922 – 1972 – 2022: Years of Chaos & Hope’ project is coming to life this August, to mark poignant anniversaries in the history of Northern Ireland.
1922 was the deadliest year of the Twenties’ conflict and 1972 was the deadliest year of the recent Troubles. 100 and 50 years on, an exhibition from the Linen Hall archives, and a series of events, curated by Melissa Baird, will reflect on the conflict and chaos of 1922 and 1972.
The ‘Years of Chaos & Hope’ Exhibition will be launched on Monday 1 August by Dr Eamon Phoenix, who will deliver a keynote lecture exploring the shared experiences of turmoil which characterised these two years.
The Exhibition will be on display at the Linen Hall Library Vertical Gallery from the 1 until the 31 of August.
Alongside the Exhibition, the Linen Hall Library will host a range of events to further delve into the chaos of the years. This programme will include lectures, panel discussions, and curator tours. All events must be booked in advance.
