Most shops in Belfast City Centre are open over the Bank Holiday period but please check with the individual retailer for more information as times may vary.

  • Wednesday 11 July: Open as normal, 9am - 6pm
  • Thursday 12 July: 12 noon - 5pm (CastleCourt is closed.)
  • Friday 13 July: Open as normal, 9am - 6pm (St George's Market is closed. Victoria Square is open 9.30am - 9pm).

Things to see and do

Lots of visitor attractions are open as normal over the Bank Holiday period but here are a few suggestions, plus their opening hours, to get you started. View more visitor attractions.

Belfast City Hall

Free public tours of Belfast City Hall are available at 10am, 11am, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm on 12 and 13 July. Led by an experienced guide, the tour lasts around one hour and you can uncover its history, while exploring some of its finest features. Stop by the new visitor exhibition, open from 9.30am - 5pm, which offers a journey from the city's past to present, showing the vibrancy and diversity of Belfast City Hall across six themed zones.

Travelling - Public Transport

Translink Metro, Ulsterbus and Goldline services will operate a public holiday timetable on Thursday 12 and Friday 13 July. NI Railways will operate a Saturday service on Thursday 12 and Friday 13 July. Enterprise train services between Belfast and Dublin will operate as scheduled.
