Giant's Causeway
Important notice – Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge is currently open with pre-booking online before travelling to the site strongly recommended. Description
A UNESCO World Heritage site, the Giant's Causeway is a magnificent, mysterious geological formation on the North East coast of County Antrim.
The Giant's Causeway is steeped in myths and legend. The setting is a spectacular, dynamic coastal landscape of Atlantic waves, rugged cliffs, fascinating geographical antiquity, secluded bays and magnificent views. It forms a jagged headland of neatly packed columns which point towards Scotland. Visitors can walk along the basalt columns which are at the edge of the sea, just over 1km from the entrance to the site.
They say the Giant's Causeway was the stomping ground of giant Finn McCool, who lived in these parts nearly two thousand years ago. How else can you explain the chimney stacks that mark his house? The organ he built for his musical son Oisín? Or the giant boot he left on the shore?

Visitor Experience ticket price includes reserved on-site parking, guided tours with our award-winning storytelling team, use of hand-held audio guides, access to the Visitor Centre's exhibition and interpretation area, the shop, cafe and use of all facilities.
The Giant's Causeway Mobility Experience is a fully guided experience for visitors with reduced mobility, or for those that have a hidden/invisible disability and are unable to walk to the Causeway stones independently. This experience must be pre-booked in advance on the National Trust's website here and is subject to availability. A range of wheelchairs and mobility scooters are also available to borrow from their Visitor Services desk within the Centre. These are allocated on a first come, first served basis and are subject to availability.

Trails and Walks
Four walking trails will give you the chance to explore the Giant’s Causeway at your own pace. Colour coded, the trails are designed for all levels of fitness, incorporating the Giant’s Causeway stones, stunning cliff-top vistas and spectacular seascapes.

Clifftop Experience
There is so much more to the Giant’s Causeway than the popular main site with its 40,000 UNESCO basalt polygonal columns. The National Trust proudly work in partnership with Away a Wee Walk to deliver a guided 5 mile cliff top experience along the famous Causeway cliffs. Parking at the site and checking into the Visitor Centre at the Causeway, a walking guide will then take you out to Dunseverick Castle ruin via public transport to commence a breath-taking 5 mile (8km) hike along amazing cliffs to arrive at the Giant’s Causeway. Full tour from beginning to end takes 3.5 to 4 hours.
This is an extraordinarily unique and very authentic way to experience a Giant’s Causeway tour. This guided cliff walking tour promises to be among the highlights of your visit to Ireland. Put on your walking boots and let Away a Wee Walk guide you.

Departure Time 12.15pm inside the Giant’s Causeway Visitor Centre. It is recommended that you aim to arrive on site no later than 12.00 noon. Wear It is strongly recommended that good walking boots or shoes are worn. A raincoat is essential, even if it only stays in your bag. Wear light layers that can be added or removed, ideally with something wind proof. Please avoid wearing jeans. Bring A light, portable lunch or snacks and some water, in a small back pack. Optional seasonal comforts to include hats, gloves or sunscreen! Price £39 Availability Daily, year round. Bookings must be received no later than 4.00 p.m. the day before your tour. Tours do sell out so we recommend booking as soon as you know your tour date. Tours require a minimum of at least three people.
