Rademon Estate in Co. Down is one of the oldest historic estates in Ireland, a haven in a unique setting and the home of Shortcross Gin.

Rademon Estate in Co. Down is one of the oldest historic estates in Ireland and a haven in a unique setting. Since 2014, it has been distilling Shortcross Gin on the estate, proudly Northern Ireland’s first craft gin and now the most awarded gin in the island of Ireland. Shortcross is an aromatic and exceptionally smooth gin: its unique flavour profile is created using fresh apples, elderflowers, elderberries and wild clover harvested on the estate, distilled alongside classic gin botanicals.

Shortcross Gin welcomes guests from all over the world to explore their unique working distillery and visitor's centre.

Visitors must be 18 or over.

  • Gin Experience Tour and Tasting

Rademon Estate Distillery is now offering exclusive pre-booked tour and tasting experiences, which will unlock some of the secrets and skills that go into creating Shortcross.

David Boyd-Armstrong, the head distiller, will talk you through the fascinating process; from how they harvest local botanicals, draw fresh water from the distillery well, distill on a bespoke copper pot still and bottle and label the finished product on site.

After the tour, discover the Visitors Centre and the Shortcross Gin Bar. Enjoy a guided tasting of Shortcross Gin and browse in the Distillery Shop.

Pre-booked tours will be held from Tuesday to Friday, with three tours per day, lasting a duration of 90 minutes. Due to this being a working distillery, visitors must wear suitable footwear (no open toes or stiletto heels).
