Set sail across the Sea of Moyle from Ballycastle to Rathlin and visit this unique and fascinating island. The ferry sails daily in all seasons, weather permitting, and you can visit for a few hours or a few nights should you really want to experience island life.
Rathlin is perfect for walking and cycling and enjoying the outdoors and fresh sea air. There are many walking trails to choose from, so if you want to see anything from cliff tops to lighthouses or seals to coastal viewpoints then Rathlin will not disappoint. Guided walks are available if pre-booked, contact Ferry Office for details and cycle hire is also available but limited to certain days or you can bring your own bike for a small fee.
Rathlin is an ideal destination on the Causeway Coast for couples, solo travellers or for a family day out or an overnight break away. The island has a beautiful beach, seals basking on the shore, a play park and outdoor gym equipment for the older children and parents. There are gifts shops, an art gallery and several places to eat fresh, local produce.
Stay in the island’s hostel, glamping pods, B&B's or guesthouse for an authentic island experience and visit the pub for great food, traditional music, plenty of drinks and some craic!
Enjoy a bus tour of the island or an interesting walk to the Seabird Centre and West Light for a tour of an upside down lighthouse. The volunteers will help you locate and name the many seabirds including the puffins. Rathlin Island Ferry Ltd offer a fantastic package for families, including return ferry, bus tour, Seabird Centre admission and lunch or supper in Morton's Traditional Fish and Chip Shop.
