Description

University of Atypical works to make the cultural scene in Northern Ireland more accessible and inclusive for everyone.

In the Atypical Gallery space, there are art exhibitions by Deaf, disabled, and neurodivergent visual artists. Sometimes that is paintings, sometimes sculpture or print, and sometimes digital work. The exhibitions change every six to eight weeks, so there’s always something new to see!

University of Atypical tries to make the programme as accessible as possible. If you need Gallery information in large print or Braille please let the team know. If you are bringing a group and would like a bespoke tour, or to have British or Irish sign language or audio description, please contact University of Atypical in advance and the Gallery coordinator will try to arrange it.

On the first Thursday of every month, the Atypical Gallery opens until 9:00 pm as part of Late Night Art Belfast, a celebration of visual art all across the city.

As well as the Atypical Gallery, University of Atypical runs a range of workshops and events through the year including artist talks, networking events, and classes. Every October they run the Bounce Arts Festival, which is the only professional disability arts festival in Northern Ireland.

For information about the current exhibition and upcoming events, please visit the University of Atypical website.
