Departing from Belfast city centre to the shores of Lough Neagh, an area world renowned for its folklore, flora, fauna and eel, guests are transported to an untapped wilderness likened to the Florida Everglades. Experience this untouched landscape, meet the locals and to sample the unique charm and fantastic culinary delights.

  • Craic ‘N Food & Drink Tour

    The Craic ‘n Food and Drink Tour is perfect for foodies who want to sample delicious food and drink from the area surrounding Lough Neagh and its Waterways. This full day tour takes you on a journey into the wild and rugged Lough Neagh landscape and gives you an insight into how important the lough was as a food source from the first arrival of man to Ireland.

    On the tour, you will meet a local fisherman, and sample some traditionally cooked Lough Neagh eels; you will visit Ballyriff Buffalo Farm and learn about the habits of these amazing creatures before sampling their tasty meat; you will visit the Old Thatch Inn for tastings of local, ciders, cheeses, oatcakes, oils & chutneys; and enjoy a tale or two in the poets’ corner, where Seamus Heaney enjoyed a drink in his local pub many times. 

    The final stop of the tour is at the Crosskeys Inn, Ireland’s oldest thatched pub, famed for its toe-tapping traditional music sessions, which you will experience along with our local Heaney Beer tasting and more nibbles – you won’t go home hungry!

    Tickets are priced at £80pp to include return transport, and plenty of food and drink sampling.

  • The Shane's Castle Tour

    Visit the ancient ruins of Shane's Castle on the shores of Lough Neagh, ancestral home of the Clanaboy O’Neills and, more recently, one of the filming locations for Game of Thrones. Hear the stories of the family Banshee and see the  mysterious black face on the rock which must remain in place to protect the continuation of the dynasty.

    Enjoy afternoon tea at the Old Railway Cafe, where the miniature railway once stopped. Indulging in afternoon tea in the grounds of the castle is a ritual dating back to the 1800s, with scones baked for smothering in cream and jam, finely sliced sandwiches and delicate pastries served with tea.

  • The Wilderness Adventure

    The wilderness tour allows you to step back from modern life and learn how early man survived on Lough Neagh.  A team of experts from the Bushcraft Centre at Oxford Island will teach you basic survival skills.

    Learn how to forage the hedgerows in the outdoor larder on the shores of Lough Neagh, discovering everything from dandelions and sticklebacks to nettles and elder flower.

    You will learn how to build a shelter using materials found in the woods at Oxford Island, but there’s no time for a nap, as you will then take to the water of Lough Neagh in a canoe. There really is no better way to immerse yourself into the untouched wilderness of Lough Neagh.

    Tickets are priced at £35pp to include lunch.

  • The Crosskeys Flyer

    Enjoy a traditional evening in Ireland's oldest thatched pub - The Crosskeys Inn. Famous for its traditional music sessions by the open turf fire, and for serving one of the best pints of Guinness in the North, alongside a fantastic selection of Irish Whiskies, this is a must-see on your trip to Ireland.

    The Crosskeys Inn is a stone built cottage, which was once a coaching stop on the route between Belfast and Derry. The building dates back to 1654 and is one of the last remaining traditional pubs in Ireland to host traditional music sessions.  Tour not suitable for children.

  • Moira Food and Drink Tour

    Join Lough Neagh Tours on an indulgent food tour in the area surrounding Moira; you’ll be astounded by the quality food produced in this part of the world. You’ll explore orchards and distilleries, sample locally baked breads and enjoy canapes from Ireland’s only female Michelin star chef.

  • The Historic Ram's Island Tour

    Take a short boat journey to Ram’s Island where you will explore a round tower from the remains of a 1000 year old Celtic monastic settlement, and the ruins of the O’Neill family’s nineteenth century summer house.

    Your guide will explain the history of the island, how it was last permanently inhabited in the 1920s by the Cardwell family who were caretakers for the O’Neill’s. The remains of Cardwell’s harbour, left dry by the lowering of Lough Neagh, can be seen near the ruins of the Cardwell’s house. There are also overgrown remains of a carriageway along the elevated central spine of the island.

    The tour includes lunch and return transfer from Belfast.
