Description

Drawing on Brian Friel’s Dancing at Lughnasa, this illustrated talk explores the ways in which the major Irish playwright has influenced the work of contemporary artists.

This exciting new work by emerging artists, Dr. Zosia Kuczyńska, Jessie Keenan and Robbie Blake, combines scholarship, movement and sound to explore the relationship between archives and performance.
They will ask how we can take archived work beyond the library to set a legacy not in stone but in motion.
This event is part of an Irish Research Council postdoctoral fellowship by Dr. Zosia Kuczyńska, working with the Brian Friel Papers at the National Library of Ireland and the Brian Friel Estate.
