Celebrating five years of Sound of Belfast with a programme of events coordinated by Oh Yeah and aimed at celebrating and promoting a great music city.
There will be a huge line up live gigs, music industry awards and learning and community throughout the festival.

An evening of live contemporary, jazz and blues featuring: Ciaran Lavery, Matt McGinn, Ronnie Greer and many more. The Oh Yeah! Award recognises the exceptional contribution of a musician from Northern Ireland. This year the Oh Yeah will make a posthumous presentation in honour of the late Jackie Flavelle- a giant of the Jazz and Blues scene of Belfast.
He has become Irish country music’s golden boy with chart topping albums, self-written smash hit singles, box office busting live tours and an army of faithful fans around the world. He will be performing at Black box on November 8 with special guests Kane O’Rourke and Ray McLoughlin.
The Belfast Music Bus Tour
Take a bus journey through the heart of this rock and roll city. Sit back, relax and enjoy tunes and tales from Them and Van Morrison by the way of awesome guitar players, traditional and folk, to punk rock and Hollywood Soundtracks. The tour is a journey across the city that reveals the music, the artists and the landscape that have brought character to the city. Tickets are available from the Visit Belfast Welcome Centre.
Music Cities Afternoon – Conversations, panels and discussions.
Keeping the conversation going on the topics that are affecting musicians and the industry as a whole. This year it will be kicked off with an opening address discussing Belfast as an UNESCO City of Music. Speakers include: Ian Moss, Beverley Whitrick, Jo Wright, Jay Taylor, Keren McKean and Jenny Wren.
The Northern Ireland Music Prize 2018
The Oh Yeah! Music centre presents The NI Music Prize, an awards evening and celebration of all that is great about music from the North. The winners of each category with be announced at this special event. There will also be live music from Brand New Friend, Ciaran Lavery, Hannah Peel, Roe, Ryan Vail and The Wood Burning Savages.
