Where is the event happening and how do I get there?

The event is taking place at the Titanic Quarter, along the Maritime Mile, running from Sailortown and Queens Quay right through to HMS Caroline. You can join us on the Maritime Mile by walking, cycling, bus, car or train.

Walk or Cycle

We encourage people to walk or cycle to the event. Rent a bike using the Belfast Bike Scheme and cycle to our event. You can pick up and drop off your Belfast Bikes at any of the city’s docking stations including Donegall Quay, Corporation Square, SSE Arena Belfast, Belfast Met, Catalyst Inc and Eastside Visitor Centre.

Bike parking is available to the public free of charge outside Titanic Belfast, beside Hickson's Point. Additionally, there is bike parking available in the carpark off Queen’s Road. Cyclists are requested to dismount within the busy festival site.

Pedestrian access from the city centre to the festival site is from the Lagan walkways and Custom House Square to Donegall Quay, City Quays and Sailortown and over the Lagan Footbridge at the weir to the Titanic Quarter and along the whole Maritime Mile.

You can also access the Titanic side of the festival from Queen’s Road.

Driving by car: follow the Brown Tourist signs for “Titanic Belfast”

North: from Antrim or Newtownabbey follow M2 to Queens Road in Belfast. Take exit 1 from M3 and continue onto Queen’s Road.

South: from A1 Newry at Sprucefield roundabout take exit 2 to M1. Continue to A12 direction “City Airport” and at junction 1 exit M3 to Titanic Quarter.

East: from Bangor direction follow Belfast Road and A2 to Belfast. Take Sydenham Road to Queens Road.

West: from M1 Craigavon continue to A12 direction “City Airport” and at junction 1 exit M3 to Titanic Quarter.

There are no planed road closures, but we expect the event to be busy.

Bus or Train

Titanic Quarter: Translink Glider services provides direct cross-city with services between the east and west of the city, with the G2 route linking into Titanic Quarter.

Or come by train to Titanic Halt which is within walking distance to the event sites.

Laganside bus station is the nearest to the festival site.

Where do I park?

There is no dedicated car parking for the event; however, those attending the event are encouraged to use city center car parks at Laganside, SSE Odyssey Arena, and at Corporation Street. Normal daily rates will apply.

Please note: The Odyssey car park will be extremely busy on Saturday 7 September as there is a large event at the SSE Arena. We advise the public to avoid this car park unless attending the arena event or the Hot House Flowers evening concert.

Will the event still be held if it is raining?

Yes, please dress appropriately for the weather. Most activities take place outside, there are some marquees.

 

Is the event accessible?

Belfast City Council are committed to ensuring that events are accessible and inclusive. For Belfast Maritime Festival, 2025 we have the following programming and facilities available on site:

Belfast Lough Sailability will be providing opportunities for disabled patrons to sail on the water during the event, from Belfast Marina. Book on the day at the W5 Life Centre, at the rear of The Odyssey) For wheelchair accessible sailing please book in advance via

Open Arts will be providing a programme of accessible and inclusive events and activities, for people with a range of disabilities, at City Quay Gardens from 11am-6pm each day.

Mini Explorers will provide a drop-in sensory play zone for children at Kid’s Cove, Donegall Quay and there will be a Calm Area in the W5 Life Building (rear of The Odyssey)

Mobile accessible toilets will be available at Donegall Quay, Queen’s Quay, The Arc and Titanic Slipways.

Adult Changing Places

Mobile accessible toilet with private adult-sized changing bench and hoist will be available at:

  • City Quays Gardens (Sunday only)
  • Victoria Square Shopping Centre, BT1 4GQ (Saturday 9am-6pm, Sunday 1pm-6pm)
  • Titanic Belfast entrance from car park level -1 (Use Radar key or request at Visitor Services)
  • W5, Belfast Marina ground floor accessible toilet, ask at reception for use.

(Please note that W5 does not provide slings for use with the ceiling hoist for hygiene reasons - customers are required to bring their own sling).

Shopmobility will be on site at Belfast Marina (located in the W5 Life Centre at the rear of The Odyssey) providing mobility scooters and wheelchairs for those with disabilities or temporary mobility difficulties. Please phone Shopmobility Belfast on 028 9080 8090 to book in advance. If you are a Shopmobility Belfast member all you need to bring is your Membership Card. If you are not a member, don’t worry, they can sign you up on the day! Just bring photographic ID and proof of address.

There is a dedicated disabled car park for patrons visiting ‘City Sensations’ Access & Inclusion Area at City Quays Gardens. This is a surface car park beside the AC Marriott Hotel off Corporation Square.

Disabled parking bays are available in the main Odyssey site car park and in the small car park to the rear (closest car park to W5 entrance). The car parks operate on a first come first served basis for all parking spaces. Blue Badge holders must display their blue badges at all times whilst parked.

Translink G2 Glider service will operate in the Titanic Quarter during the festival. All gliders will be fully accessible and can drop patrons at key stops near to the event site.

Are there toilets and baby changing facilities onsite?

Yes. There are portable and fully accessible public toilets located at City Quays Gardens, Donegal Quay, Queen’s Quay, The Arc, and the Titanic Slipways.

Baby changing facilities will also be located at Queen’s Quay and at The Arc /Belfast Marina.

 

Where are the first aid points?

There will be first aid points on Queens Quay and in the Paddock area adjacent to Titanic Slipways. Should you require assistance please locate your nearest steward on site.

 

Can I take photos or videos at the event?

Yes, but for personal use only or if you have been given permission to do so by the organisers of the event. Professional photographers who operate for public facing media are not permitted to operate within the event space without obtaining permission from Belfast City Council and providing details of their official accreditation alongside contact details.

Can you get on board the vessels?

Yes, there will be a number of visiting vessels and berthed at Donegall Quay and along Queen’s Quay and in Belfast Harbour Marina that will be open to the public. Vessel opening times will be subject to tide, weather and ship restrictions.

Do I need to book anything in advance?

The event is free to attend and a lot of the programmed activities you do not need to book but schedules of times will be avilable on the day. However, across the weekend there are some workshops and tours that do require prebooking.

If you wish to visit attractions such as HMS Caroline, Lady of the Lagan Boat Tours, Titanic Belfast, SS Nomadic, W5, and Titanic Distillers, you are advised to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

 

Is everything free?

The event is free to attend, and the majority of programmed activities are free. However, there are a number of activities which will have a small charge such as private walking and boat tours. Some other attractions alongside food and drink outlets are providing special offers over the weekend.

Where are the nearest cash machines?

There is a cash machine located in the Titanic Spar, the Arc (next to Belfast Harbour Marina) and in front of the SSE Arena.

 

Are there any food outlets and bars?

There are a number of pop-up food traders across the site at Donegall Quay, Queen’s Quay and City Quays Gardens.

The Titanic Slipways, Street Food Market will bring together a vibrant mix of local food vendors serving up freshly prepared dishes made with 100% locally sourced produce. There is a licensed bar at The Slipways and at Titanic Distillers along with hotel bars across the site.

Picnic and seating areas with benches, tables and chairs are available throughout the festival site to enjoy your own or take-away food.

There are other outlets where you can get food and drinks at The Arc, SSE Arena, Titanic Hotel, Titanic Belfast, Premier Inn. For further details visit maritime-mile.com/see-and-do/eat-drink

On the City Quays side of the river, Centra, The American Bar, Seaton’s of Sailortown, AC Marriott hotel and River Rooms offer food, drink and events during the festival.
