Many of Belfast’s restaurants, cafés and pubs serving food have reopened – just in time to get your fill of festive dining before Christmas! Don’t forget to follow social distancing guidelines, wear a face covering when not at your table and wash your hands regularly. Two households only can meet together and booking a table is advised.
Where to Eat Out for...
After the year we’ve had, you deserve an ultra-special meal out. Treat yourself to a night in one of Belfast’s Michelin Star or fine dining restaurants. Book a table in the lavish setting of the Great Room Restaurant at the Merchant Hotel (complete with exquisite festive décor) serving a superb tasting menu, or go to OX where you can sample a creative seasonal menu in trendy surroundings, followed by wine and cheese in adjoining CAVE. Deanes EIPIC is a must, with tasting menus from £45 on Wednesdays and Thursdays, or visit Muddlers Club which serves simple but elegant dishes in cool atmosphere.
Looking for a cosy booth and some comfort food? Pubs serving food have reopened and Belfast has plenty to choose from. Go to the recently refurbish Fountain Lane for burgers, steak and Guinness pie and fish and chips, served with a great selection of craft beers and gins. In Whites Tavern you’ll find classic Irish oysters, boxty and stew, while the bistro at Robinsons Bars offers sandwiches, light bites and classic pubs mains. Or visit the Doyen on Lisburn Road for traditional pub food in a stylish setting.
Who said pizzas can’t be festive? Visit Little Wing for yummy Naples style pizzas and a Christmassy mince pie calzone for dessert! Or go to Villa Italia for a huge selection of authentic pizzas served in a dazzling interior, where terracotta tiles and elaborate murals will transport you to Italy itself.
