Beacon of Hope
Description
Thanksgiving Square is an area of public space in Lanyon Place, Belfast based on Thanksgiving Square in Dallas, Texas.
A period of transformation and regeneration has taken place along Belfast's Laganside area over the past decade, symbolised by the powerful 15 metre sculpture towering over Queen's Bridge, The Beacon of Hope.
Located in Thanksgiving Square, this statue is a contemporary female figure, created from steel tubes and a bronzed-cast globe, combining some of the key architectural elements from the original Thanksgiving Square in Dallas, Texas.
