Charlotte, Rob, Robin & You
Description
An exhibition by Charlotte Bosanquet, Robin Price & Rob Hilken.
With over 22 years in the arts sector, the Golden Thread Gallery’s experience partner-working with artists is unparalleled. Over this time they have developed strong, long term and creative relationships with artists and community groups across the city.
The artists in Charlotte, Rob, Robin and You have established histories of socially engaged practice, enabling them to co-create and work with different members of the community. This exhibition invites “you” to be a core contributor to the new Golden Thread Gallery at Queen Street.
Artists engage with viewers in many different ways today.* At the heart of their work is equity of opportunity and access to art, communication, collaboration, democratisation and inclusion, respect and appreciation of everyone’s expertise and creativity in the development and/or delivery process of socially engaged practice.
The exhibition is curated and developed by GTG and our participating artists to showcase not only their work, but also the significance of this type of collaboration.
* Marcel Duchamp famously argued that an artwork needs a viewer [you] to be complete, an idea that quickly took off in the 1950s and has been interpreted in many ways since.
