A Trojan Woman
Description
In a flash of modern warfare (Ukraine? Afghanistan? Israel? Gaza?), a mother loses her child. She becomes a Trojan woman, compelled to embody every iconic character in Euripides’ classic play.
Sara Farrington’s contemporary adaptation directed by critically-acclaimed New York director Meghan Finn (“...the tiger in The Tank” - Time Out NY) delicately weaves humour and caricature throughout this stunning performance by celebrated actress, Drita Kabashi.
A TROJAN WOMAN was originally commissioned by The Interbalkan Festival of Ancient Drama of Athens and presented at Theatro Attikou Aldous/Katina Paxinou Attica Grove Theater in Athens, Greece, July 2023. A TROJAN WOMAN premiered in the US at Luna Stage, NJ as a co-production with The Tank NYC March 2024. The print edition of the script is available at Broadway Play Publishing, Inc.
