Description

Guided Kayak Trip with instructor & physicist who will tell you about the local area and the full moon!

Enjoy a Full Moon Paddle on Strangford Lough. Firstly, the full moon is unique to witness from the water and no better place to do so, than from a kayak, SUP or canoe on a flat sea.

In astrology, the October full moon is the third Supermoon of the year called the Hunters Moon. It’s so-called because it was during the month of October, when the deer’s had fatted themselves over the course of the summer, that hunters tracked and killed prey by autumn moonlight, stockpiling food for the coming winter.

Departing at twilight you will be guided by an instructor for a paddle out onto Strangford Lough and around the islands. With a favourable forecast, they hope there will be great view of the stars and moon. You'll have a stop to have a chat with their physicist who will entertain you with lots of moon related facts and folklore. After that, you'll return to base for some hot chocolate & treats.

Allow 15 Minutes to get parked and kitted up, your tour will start shortly after. Wear swimsuit under your clothes if borrowing a wetsuit to avoid us witnessing two full moons!

Nb. They are also now offering Full Moon Boat Trips on the same dates!
