Description

The largest pipe band and drum major contest to be held in Northern Ireland this year! This event always makes for a fantastic day out. The impressive showcase of sound and colour fills the air and is a delight to the eyes.

The Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association Northern Ireland Branch (RSPBANI) and Ards and North Down Borough Council are pleased host the United Kingdom Pipe Band Championships on Saturday 18 May in the Ward Arras area of Ward Park, off Gransha Road. The largest pipe band and drum major contest to be held in Northern Ireland this year.

The impressive showcase of sound and colour fills the air and is a delight to the eyes. Friendly competition creates a really enjoyable atmosphere for all.

76 bands from Northern Ireland, Ireland, Scotland together with over 30 drum majors will descend on Ward Park for what will be a great day out for people of all ages.

Entry is free to all and there will be adequate parking with shuttle buses in operation.

Who will be crowned United Kingdom Champion at the first major championships of the 2024 season? Make sure to be there to see the magnificent spectacle!

Sustainability | Ards and North Down Borough Council is committed to reducing their carbon footprint. They encourage visitors to travel via public transport, bring along reusable bags to pick up goodies at the event and to dispose of your rubbish in the correct bins when on-site.
