Film Music Supervising with Phil Canning
Description
This is an opportunity for young music supervisors with a passion for film to ask questions and garner advice and tips from one of the industry’s most creative voices.
Phil began working in the music industry in the early 2000s, at Warp Records, where he helped to release albums by acts ranging from ‘Aphex Twin’ & ‘Boards of Canada’ to ‘Grizzly Bear’ & ‘Vincent Gallo’. When Warp Films was created, he began Music Supervising on feature films including Four Lions, Submarine and Berberian Sound Studio. He was soon appointed Creative Manager for Film at Universal Music Publishing in London and simultaneously continued to work as an independent Music Supervisor. In 2017 he supervised the BAFTA award winning film I am not a Witch, with other credits including rave epic Beats, brutal Irish drama Calm with Horses, the multiple award-winning Limbo and The Phantom of the Open. Recent projects include Scrapper, Hoard, In Camera, Sebastian, Layla, Tuesday and the Netflix hit Fall. TV credits include Strike and Stonehouse.
