Description
Experience a captivating performance by Irish artist Amanda Coogan in the BEUYS exhibition at the Ulster Museum.
As part of the programming for the BEUYS: 50 Years Later: Action, Society, Performance and Change exhibition, visitors can enjoy seeing performances by contemporary artists on the Isle of Ireland.
About the artist:
Amanda Coogan’s work is influenced by her early life, having grown up in a household where Irish sign language was her first language, as her parents were deaf. This connection continues to resonate throughout her artistic practice.
Coogan, who graduated from the National College of Art and Design in 1998, is known for her live exhibitions that engage audiences through powerful, embodied expressions of time and space. She has been featured in major international art events, including the Venice Biennale in 2003 and the Liverpool Biennial in 2004, and received the prestigious Allied Irish Bank’s Art Prize in 2004.
Coogan's film Gnawing on the Bones - Reflections on Beuys (2022), is also featured as part of our Beuys exhibition (kindly on loan from the artist).
What to know:
-The performance will take place in Art Gallery 4 in the Ulster Museum.
-This is a drop in session, no booking required.
