Island Arts Centre
Description
A year-round calendar of classes, culture and entertainment worthy of your time and attention.
Treat yourself to the finest entertainment and arts events, whether it's live theatre at its very best, live music up close and personal or cutting edge dance. Island also offers an assortment of sociable and inspiring courses and craft workshops throughout the year for your enjoyment.
The Arts Centre is well known for a connection with local Northern Irish artists and boasts two excellent galleries. Come along to this season's previews, meet exhibiting artists over refreshments and be among the first to view and buy their work.
Discover the public art and sculpture trail or be a guest on a special arts centre tour to delve into the history, design and architectural elements of the Island complex. Learn about its transformation from linen spinning mill to landmark arts centre and hear about the Great Fire of Lisburn in 1707. Tours are free, but must be pre-booked and a minimum of six people are required.
The parent and child art zone is a creative, fun and free way for kids and parents to interact with exhibitions, with chances to win goody bags. No booking is required but children should be accompanied at all times.
The Island is easily accessible and bar, restaurant and free car parking facilities are available.
