Description

Join RSPBNI and local tour guide Andrew Johnston of Alternative Ulstours on a devilishly dark walking tour of Belvoir Park Forest for Halloween.

Andrew will tell the story of the forest from pagan times to the present day, with a focus on the weird and the spooky. Learn about the macabre folklore of many trees and birds. Walk to the forgotten graveyard that has been reclaimed by nature. Stand where the lost village of Bredagh once hived with life. Hear about Belvoir's 'Phantom Planter' and a surprising connection to a fearsome punk rocker. There may even be a ghost story or two!

The tour starts and ends at RSPB NI's HQ (which is itself reportedly haunted!). Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. The tour will last two and a half hours and cover around two miles on sometimes uneven forest trails. The tour will go ahead in all weathers, so please dress accordingly and stay hydrated. There are toilets at the start and end.
