Public Tours of Templemore Baths in Autumn
Description
Join a guided tour of the only remaining Victorian public bath house on the island of Ireland.
Templemore Baths Heritage Space preserves the original Victorian features of the only remaining public baths on the island of Ireland. These include the slipper baths, ticket office and architectural features. The building, which has been at the heart of the community for 130 years, tells the stories of those who have used it for work, leisure, and hygiene.
With an intrinsic link to Belfast shipyards and stories of working-class families, Templemore Baths uses interactive displays, personal and public memory, alongside thoughtful research to represent a large part of East Belfast's social history.
Take a guided tour of the Templemore Baths Heritage Space, with a friendly local guide who will enrich your visit with insights and conversation covering the development and use of the baths, local social history, leisure and sport, and the meticulous restoration and preservation project that finally brought the building back to life as a thriving place in Belfast.
