Description

The Celtic myth of Scàil and Cúchulainn retold with Indian Kirtan music celebrating the devine feminine.

Kirtan is the musical retelling of the spiritual realm we are all bound to but lose sight of in our frantic rush to daily action. The essence of the soundscapes created are all about emotions and provide the resonating backdrop for the spoken word storytelling of the legendary encounter of Cúchulainn and Scàil at Annascaul lake. Be immersed in this captivating musical retelling as it sweeps you through an inner path between shadow and light. Foinse is a group of storytellers, musicians, artists and singers based in Corca Duibhne, who delve into the deep mythological stories stored in the landscape that surround them. The retelling of the stories involves a connection with the emotions and passions that the myths invoke, everything from the sacred to the profane. Their performances explode with sensory delights encompassing poetic narration, haunting music, projected artwork and soaring chorus’ that carry you on the winds of Gaelic Myths in a new immersive way.
