Fountain Lane
Description
Fountain Lane has been feeding and watering Belfast since 1901. With a wealth of history as a tavern for the city, call in for good food, great drinks, local music, live sport.
From 1840 Fountain Lane’s name originated from the two fountains that were situated on Fountain Street, which distributed water from Mundy’s Well to the local community. From then on, the site was established as Fountain Street National School.
Come 1901, the original Fountain Tavern was then established, and has been feeding and watering Belfast ever since. The bar survived until World War II when it was severely damaged during the famous Belfast blitz and therefore had to be demolished. In 1955 the premises was rebuilt and re-opened to the public.
Fountain Lane was restored and launched in October 2019. They strive to develop and capture the essence of Fountain Lane through their great local grub, local drinks, live traditional music, great Belfast history and craic each and every day in the heart of Belfast city centre.
Join every Monday night from 9pm for their weekly quiz, with top prizes to be won every week! No need to book, walk-ins welcome. Or join them on the corner every Sunday for our Fountain Lane Roasts, kids eat free!
Full venue hire is available.
Food: Local Irish pub grub food served from 12 noon each day until 9pm. Sunday Roast available from 12 noon to eat in or takeaway, kids eat free. Check out the website for menus.
Drinks/cocktails: Full range of local brewed beers on draft, bottled beers, spirits including an extensive range of local Irish whiskies; or grab a crafted cocktails.
Live Sport: Sport shown daily on the big screens. Football, GAA, Darts, Golf & Rugby.
Live Music: Local acoustic bands, singer, trad sessions and DJs. Thursday-Sunday.
Offerings: Bar snacks & drink deals available, with food served til 9pm.
